I think we need to understand the concept of forgiveness according to the Scriptures. When we ask for forgiveness, every record of our sins are cleared away by the blood of Jesus and it is as though we had never sinned. The blood of Jesus has wiped away both the sin and its punishment because Jesus took the punishment of our sins by HIS death on the cross (2Cor 5:21, Col 2:13&14). Hence, the wages/punishment of sin is gone with the sin too (Rom 6:23). If any christian suffers for a sin, it is because he hasn't repented of that sin, so, God chastises him so as to bring him back and make him repent (Heb 12:6&7). Also, there could be the case of suffering for the consequence (not punishment) of a sin, eg, if an unmarried girl gets pregnant, she has to bear the child (abortion is not an option because it is another sin), or if an armed robber gets caught and he asks for forgiveness, yes he will be forgiven, but, he has to face the court of law, David and Bathsheba's first son for him (2Sam 12:1-24), etc. Even when we suffer consequence (not punishment) of our sins after we've asked for forgiveness, God's Grace is sufficient to see us through these times because HIS Grace abounds more (Rom 5:20&21). ...

Job is a good example sir. God actually permits bad occurences or sickness so as to teach us a lesson. I want you to understand that sickness or any evil is not from God but the devil. However, in a bid to teach us, mould us, shapen us and refine us, the Father will allow such, not because we are sinful, but because they teach us faith, trust and dependency on God. Our Father is not one who is afraid to teach us the tough lessons of life. Read Malachi 3 vs 3 and meditate on it. ...

@The GIDEON:Can you allow something bad or evil happen to your biological child?I don't think so.No good parent will chastise his/her child with something evil.Likewise, our heavenly Father will not.I know He disciplines us but He does that in love. Please don't mix the two together.God loves His children so much.He corrects us in love and not primarily by bringing evil and sickness our way. ...
